And yet it doesn't seem to be slowing people down much. I use the good old A12 every day. Given that petrol is ruinously expensive, people (except public sector union bosses obviously) are supposed to be short of cash these days. You'd think people would put two and two together and try to economise a bit, maybe keep the speed down to just two digits perhaps? Say 70?

I cruise along at 65 and very often find myself catching up the speed merchants later on queuing or stuck behind lorries etc. I get pretty decent fuel economy too.

Why not save a few quid and slow down a bit. Start your journey earlier etc.

In my experience when you try and drive at the speed limit you get an Audi barrel up behind you flashing its lights ordering you to go faster. Which on the A12 especially is stupid as it has some of the most bobbly stretches in Britain.

"ordering you to go faster" ????

No-one can order you to exceed the speed limit - make them wait but pull back in once you've finished overtaking - not forgetting to thank him with a hand gesture for testing his headlights!

The one which annoys me the most is when you approach the exit road and the Audi driver (its usually an Audi) decides to overtake you, then cut back in at the last second to turn off down the exit. If possible i speed up and force them to stay on the outside just to prove a point. Why do they need to do that? Sit behind you for miles, then pull out to overtake to cut you up to turn off at the last second? Why?

Remind me to avoid you.. acting like an idiot.

Well if you decide to sit behind someone for miles purely to overtake them to cut them up and turn off then yes you'd better hope its not me in front of you

Its the red mist Jamie, not worth it .

I'm with Jamie on this. It may be red mist-but we all see it from time to time! I see it when I slow down well in advance to a red light-and a p****** goes into the wrong lane to try to overtake. If the light changes to green-I'll make a point of blasting past them from a rolling start-and if I can stop them cutting back in-all the better. Yes it is childish.

But satisfying nevertheless.

Behaviour as described above is infantile.. It's my turn, you stole my place, I'll steal yours.

I tolerate plenty. But not everything.
