They're affordable (the depreciation is horrendous!) You can fit people in the back. It is a stylish looker and they are fun but you really need to work the engine hard. I was tempted; the rotary engine is a talking point, but I bought a 6 instead because practicality and lower tax won out!

The rotary might be a talking point but it will soon become apparent why no one else uses it.

If you want to experience what 10,000RPM sounds like-spend £100 on a chainsaw.

The whole thing was an experiment, basically. Don't get one if you'd like to avoid filling up the petrol tank and the oil incessantly.

If he's in RX-8 territory, how's about a Hyundai Coupe or a Toyota Celica instead? I asked Honest John for a recommendation and he says a Hyundai Coupe II series, of which you could get a lower mileage/newer example than the RX-8 for the same money.

dreadfull car ! leave well alone. Dont forget when you start one up you have to drive it for serveral miles, especially in the winter otherwise it WONT restart ! the rotors become fuel washed !
