Peugeot 306 1998 - Remove washer jets - how? - jailer1273

Hi

I've got blocked washer jets. I've tried high pressure air and water, sucking, blowing, swearing at it. Ignoring it. Surprising it. Nothing seems to be working.

I've just read somewhere about removing the jets and soaking/descaling/cleaning them.

My Haynes guide says ".... unclip the washer jet from the bonnet..."

I can't move it! When I push up it bends the bonnet and I doubt it goes downwards through a hole smaller than the jet!

I can't really see it - is there a clip I'm supposed to physically move out the way or squeeze to get the jet out??

Thanks

This may be a red herring for this car, but the washer jets I have had to remove required little more than snipe nosed pliers to squeeze two "tabs" on the underside. The jet appears to be tapered under the bonnet, but the taper is these two expanding tabs, something akin to the kind of fastening on modern day rucksack straps, and alike.

Pop down to Halfords and have a look at replacement ones to see what I'm trying to explain.

Ditch the 2 jet 306 ones and get a set for a Xsara off ebay that throw a mist out, only about a tenner and don't clog up.
