Toyota Avensis 2006 - Clutch Pedal raised high before transmission engag - westburry

Car is a Toyota Avensis 1.6 year is 2006.

Clutch Pedal raised high before transmission engages.

Could this be due to clutch needing replacing ?
A problem with the hydraulic system ?

Is it possible to adjust the clutch on a hydraulic clutch system or are they self adjusting ?

Also gears crunch in 2nd gear, could you advise ?

Hi. I would bleed the clutch first ( make sure you have fluid in the reservoir)..if this makes no difference you will need a new clutch plate.

Bleed the clutch is a very simple 10 minute job that will eliminate air in the system.
