Renault Megane - car won't start, immobiliser problem - Ay

Can anyone out there help me please? I've been reading the conversations about problems with car not starting dur to immobiliser, i'm having the same problems!!!! I need to know how and where i can find the software for generating the the 4 digit code. Please help.

How old is the car? Does it have a 'plip' key with the receiver in the roof console? Is it IR or RF? They vary greatly according to the age of the car. There's an involved procedure with repeated presses of the central locking button to input the sync code, assuming you know what it is. The code would have been supplied originally with the car service book but they can get lost of course. A Renault dealer may be able to supply it from the Renault database, but apparently some charge for the service.
