Fiat Punto 1.2 mk1 1996 - Ignition Barrel wires - mechanical-muppet

Hi

Could anyone help with the ignition wires on my Punto.

I am attempting to fit a remote start module and am looking for +12v (on), and Starter motor wires.

I have searched with my multi-meter but am having no luck identifying them.

I have found accessory lives, but not one that is only live with the key in the on position, also I cannot locate the wire which is sending the signal to the starter motor.

Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks.

Does it have an immobiliser? If so, how does the remote start kit get round it?

Sorry, I know that's not the response you wanted! I only ask because on my car I can crank the starter motor over with the immobiliser engaged.

Hi

The car does have an immobiliser, it is bypassed by having a code 'chip' placed in the console.

Cheers

"bypassed by having a code 'chip' placed in the console"

And the reaction of your insurance company to this modification is...?

Sorry to be negative, but insurers are becoming very hard nosed (quite rightly in my opinion) over undisclosed modifications/misrepresentations. If they find out and cancel your cover, that error will cost you for years to come.

And if you are starting the car while not in it,it will be stolen and the insurance won't pay or,if on road, you'll be done by the police.
