Eventually one will go obviously, the Scorpio has 3 weeks MOT left and will not pass in its current state so work has to be done, not much though mind. Ive always loved cars which are alot of car for not much money, going back to the old Granada's, full leather and all the toys for a third of the price of a Merc. This Scorpio has adjustable seats in the back, hardly anything else had that in the 90s and still doesnt now! I just cant justify a newish 10 grand eurobox with "good emissions" and a spartan interior when for peanuts you can pick up motors like this. Always been my favourite sorts of cars.

Scorpio saloons are not easy to get hold of now and when i wanted a car a few weeks back there werent any around, not in reasonable proximity to my house anyway. And tell you the truth i overlooked it, assuming i'd never get insurance on it, but now at 26 its actually very reasonable.

Not sure what im going to do yet, the Scorpio will never be worth much, only the Cosworth's are worth any serious money so we'll see the full extent of what needs doing, i think it is just tyres and an exhaust but we'll see.

But if you think this is bad having two of them at the moment there was a time where i had approximatley seven cars lumped outside my house in varying states of repair and road legality lol. All good fun isnt it!

It is indeed an automatic. And yes the engine is terrific, this specific car has done 137,000 miles but engine wise its tight as a drum.

What tempted me to it the most was the fact the bodywork is like new, a rarity on these older Fords.
