Hello.

Just tried to open my bonnet on my car and it won't. The release leaver under the steering wheel is just loose and does not seem to be connected to anything.

I took a closer look and the wire still seems to be attached to it so I think the problem is at the release under the bonnet.

Any Ideas as to how on earth I might be able to get my bonnet open!? I can't even drive the car to the garage as the battery is disconnected as I dont drive it very often,

Any helpful advice would be much appreciated.

If i remember correctly, from when this happened (or something similair) on my Dad's Ford Escort when i was a kid, the solution was to jack the front of the car up, go under the car (take a torch obviously) at the front, reach up and pop it open at the lock yourself.

If you can't pop it open like jamie says, remove the front grill and then use a screwdriver to release it.
