Suzuki Swift - Plugs - Doc

2007 Suzuki Swift

Two problems: (1) The spark plugs (original makers fit) are extremely tight , so I have not attempted removal as I am afraid the tops may break. Any suggestions?

2) Using the proper plug socket with the rubber bung, it stays attached to the plug when you retract the extension bar. As the plugs are deep in the head, you cannot access the sides to remove the socket. I am sure this is common on most OHC engines. Is an extra long plug socket available?

Suzuki Swift - Plugs - unthrottled

I know one is meant to change plugs on a cold engine but try running the engine for a little while before removal. The aluminium bore should expand a bit faster than the steel plug which might make removal easier. Sometimes trying to turn clockwise (ie tightening) can actually help break the seal.

2.) My plug socket doesn't have a rubber bung-works fine!
