Sporty motor - Route from Norwich to Ambleside! - perleman

Hi backroom, it's been a while!

I'm driving on a forthcoming Sunday from Norwich to Ambleside. Will leave around 7am. Can anyone recomend:

* A fast route where there will be little traffic / avoidance of known traffic black spots?

Also any suggestions welcomed for a BRIEF detour if there are any scenic ones (Peak District / Yorkshire Dales?) as we are lucky enough to have a convertible sports car so wouldn't mind a detour over any particularly scenic routes if it didn't add too much to the journey, in case it's nice & sunny!

Fast route - A14 cross country to M6 - Sunday is quiet so Birmingham area shouldn't be a problem.

Scenic Route:

A1 north and then drive through the Dales.

A couple of options:

A1 to Harrogate, A59 to Skipton, A65 through Wharfedale to M6 near Kendal.

A1 to Leeming Bar, A684 through Wensleydale to Sedburgh and M6.
