Fiat 500 2010 1.2 Pop - High mileage - Used car confusion
Fiat 500 2010 with 25,000 miles on the clock. Should the high mileage be a concern?

In my view no. Much prefer high mileage to one that's done two miles to work and two miles home each day.

Out of interest, exactly how old is the car - could be anything between 3 and 15 months old?

Jan 2010. The dealer is asking £7500 for it!

Don't know about the price. What the new price?

25k is 500 per week which is a 50 mile each way commute per day. Not uncommon and quite easy on the car.

check if it is ex-rental or driving school, if either then it's too much.(price-wise)

I was thinking the same thing about ex-driving school!? How could I find out, I doubt if the dealer would give me that information?!

Ask the dealer! If he won't tell you, tell him you won't buy! I asked at a carsupermarket when i bought my aveo, and they happily told me, (it wasex-e-car car rental) if it's a leasing company it will say, but my estimation is 25000 miles is too many miles for this engine in just over a year, there are plenty more around, look for one with less miles, but that's my personal advice. If you don't specially want a fiat 500 there are still lots of new cars for that money, I'm 6' 2" and ive had a piccanto and driven an i10, i bought an aveo 1.4lt from a carsupermarket with not many miles on it for £6300, so unless you eally want a 500 pop, keep looking

Happy motoring, let us know what you decide.

Just back from the dealer. Yes it is an ex-driving school car. I took it for a test drive around a quiet industrial estate and then on to the motorway to give it a good run. It drove well and everything seemed to be in good working order!

He didn't budge on his price though. He valued my car at £1,000 part exchange and wants £6,500 cash ... Which amounts to the advertised price!

I was happy to walk away and let him get back to me tomorrow, perhaps with a further offer!

In my opinion the mileage it has done is alright but the price is too high for example

Fiat 500 1.2 Pop, it is 450 pounds more but it is essentially brand new with no miles

Also wouldnt touch a ex-driving school car, clutch is probably ruined along with other parts too possibly.

Mileage in itself not the problem - but, driving school. hmm..

Would you really want a car that's been 'driven' (for want of a better word..) by people who can't (by definition) drive & will have been stopped/started/gear crunched/kangarood/ pootled around/ kerbed etc for 25,000 miles? Answers on a postcard pls.

Lots more out there - no need to fixate or pontificate on this one i'd say.
