Ford Mondeo 2002 - Brake light constantly on fault.. - Stevie_Boi

Hi i am looking for some help after a near miss (slammed on the anchors!) my brake lights are on constant. Have tried to remove the switch that is situated above the pedal and lights go out. Then when plugged back in they are on again.

Any ideas? If the switch whats it called and how much and easy is it to fit?

Sounds like brake switch is faulty.Part is cheap ,around £12 from memory.Fitting is easy,it is a push and twist action into the plastic "gripper bush" on the pedal box assy.Just make sure adjustment is correct.hth

Thanks for your reply. I have looked into it a bit more. It seems (i hope) it just needs adjusted. If i pull the brake pedal towards the steering wheel the lights go out. I let it go it comes back on. How do i go about adjusting the brake pedal so it comes towards me?

Are you sure the pedal return spring has not failed. Regards Peter
