Hi,

I have a Mazda 6 2l diesel 2002 model. I need to check the timing but to do this i need to remove the offside engine mount to remove the timing cover. I have been told that this is possible by placing a jack under the engine to support it.

My question is where can i place the jack so as not to cause damage, is the sump ok?

Hi threre, under the sump should be ok, just use a block of wood or something similar to spread the weight between the jack and the sump.
