Nissan Qashqai - Sticking accessories to vehicle with 3Mtape - Dwight Van Driver

Fancy tarting the old girl up with a chrome trim round front . Kit sticks to bodywork with double sided strips of 3Mtape.

How succesful is this.

Seems very flimsy to me

Any advice?

If its the same 3M tape that I have then it will be fine. just make sure the paint on your car is clean and wax/polish free. Try some isopropyl alcohol to clean the area wher you want the adhesion. I used the 3M tape I have to stick on aerodynamic winglets/gurney flaps on formula one car wings., and they stayed on at 200mph, no problem.

@ Turbo11: is it true that F1 cars had 'Kylie flaps'?

In my day (1985-2006) we didn't have "Kylie flaps",(maybe a very recent idea) but we had lots of other strange but aptly named parts. The nicknames for parts always came from ourselves(mechanics) on the cars and proved quite useful, especially when certain teams( red cars!) used to listen in on our radio transmissions. One of my favourites despite being a pig to fit, were the "pizzas"- which was a large circular disc of tungsten ballast the size of a family pizza which varied in thickness. each one weighed between 40-60kg, fitted underneath the fuel tank and we changed to adjust the balance of the car.
