Volkswagen Polo 5 door 58 reg. - Water getting trapped between outer and inner door - ex-Triumph man

My daughter has a 58 reg 5-door Polo. With recent rain she has found that when she opens the NSR door, there is a load of water pours out on the the ground. It would appear that water is getting trapped between the seal on the door and the seal on the body shell. This does not happen on any other door.

My wife has a 60 reg 5 door Polo and the sealing arrangement is different.

Do any VW experts know if there is an answer to this please?

I'm not an expert but I'd be more worried if the water did not drain out.

I have the same on my 08 bluemotion on the front n/s. I just make sure I open the door to drain it.

I've solved it. The chariot is due to go in part x on the 1st

I agree water retention would be a greater worry. However it is an embarassment really. Hope you enjoy your new car, by the way.
