Skoda Superb 1.9 TDi - Aux. Belt Noise - Desperardo
The aux. belt seems to warble and progressively gets worst when put under pressure from the steering pump. The belt has plenty of tension but starts to flap between the alternator and the pump when put under strain from turning the power steering. Fitted new belt but problem is still there....any solutions would be appreciated.

I think you will find that this has an over-run clutch pulley on the alternator.When this fails,it produces a flap on the belt.The pulley is available as a seperate part from Vag,but you will need a special tool for removal.hth

Many Thanks ....car taken to alternator specialist at Southend where Dave confirmed confirmed your reply. saved me a lot of money nearly replaced steering pump and pulley......... Many thanks again ..nice to see a few honest tradesmen still are out there.
