From the diagrams I have, the oil filter is located on the front right hand corner of the engine block (as you look from the front) and is angled at about 45 degrees. The filter is a paper element and is inside a black plastic casing with a large plastic nut on top (maybe 21mm).

You might need to remove the soundproofing from the top of the engine. I'm not sure about the 1.6 but I think the soundproofing just pulls off.

Of course the sump plug should be easy enough to find!
