"So easy to fit, a blonde bird can do it."

I have a set of autosocks, which I've yet to use. Easier to fit in the boot. It would be useful if someone did a comparison of the various solutions.

The socks look easy to fit as well. The site also sells the spiker accesory.

Wether these actually work is another matter:

Friend has Spikes Spiders on his Mondeo - was ok in snow before on fairly new Goodyears but he's very impressed with the spiders.

I've got a pair of Autosocks, and I'm very happy with them.

I live on a steep hill and got fed up with having the car snowed in for days at a time, when the main roads are clear.

With the snow socks on my car easily gets up and down my road, even on wet, inch thick ice that's so slippery you can't stand on it.

I've yet to try them on deep snow, but on thick hard packed snow and ice, wet ice, or slippery slush they're amazing.

They're relatively easy to fit, but it's not a particually pleasant experience due to the cold, wet and having to reach behind the wheel into the wheel arch to stretch them over the wheel. They supply gloves to protect you but mine are already ripped to shreds.

Getting them off is easy, as they have straps you can use to pull them off.

The biggest issue is that they wear out quickly on tarmac, so you have to take them off when you reach clear roads.

I like the look of Blumec Mitas, they are new.

They fit any car and can stay on when the roads are clear.

I like the look of Blumec Mitas,

They can stay on when the roads are clear.

But only if it's dry, apparently

As anyone used the Michelin Composite Snow chain as described here

Can anyone say how they compare to the other solutions like autosocks?
