Its being going on since the advent of the motor car the scrappage scheme just made it a little easier. If Mike thinks its a new practice he must have been going round with his eyes closed. One of the biggest rackets going is buy a badly damaged high value car ship it to Poland thnen steal the equivelent car and then clone them more a mainland Europe problem you see hundreds of damaged cars going to poland on transporters every day. High value cars disappear out of the UK in quite large numbers destined for foreign markets there must be a lot of corruption and bribery at the docks asthis practice seemstocontinue unabated.

Don't you feel that this country isn't what it once was, when people are obliged to grub around scrap yards and break the law to make a living. Good luck to them if they can keep good cars on the road, much greener than making a new one.

The scrappage scheme was a disaster for the country's finances and a disaster for the New Labour marketing machine; it alienated their natural constituency and showed them up to be inept and giftless to the wider electorate.

I think he was pointing out the opportunities for a large number of perfectly serviceable vehicles to find their way back into the second hand market having been scrapped at great expense to the UK taxpayer.

What's more the serviceable vehicle is in the same place as the unserviceable vehicle in a market sector not usually known for its transparent practices or rigorous morals and honesty.

Most of these vehicles were not scrapped but sent to other countries to start a new live the whole process was never policed .
