Is it me or does there appear to be an increasing number of people who post once, then disappear without so much as a by-your-leave?

AndyP,were you referring to those with vehicle related problems?

Perhaps once we`ve sorted their problem out they have reliable motoring from then on? ;)

Nice when ones time&effort are appreciated....some do post a thank you.

Yep, and usually they have something controversial to say. I'm sure we're being baited by another site... :)

They usually follow a similar pattern. They will post an unusually long message which goes into great detail about a car which they have purchased (or are about to purchase) and then they've discovered that there is something dodgy about the mileage or its history.

Then they sit back and watch the comments, and never post another message on the subject.

Good example recently.....the Honda civic thread about the vehicle in question being clocked. Masses of detail; never heard from the OP again.

Somebody somewhere must be laughing

If they are laughing it is inpolite.

A lot of people have made the effort to sort out a problem for these posters and the least they can say is a thank you.

Apart from anything else, it's nice to have the 'conclusion' or the 'fix' reported for others that might be searching for the same symptoms at a later date.
