VW BEETLE 2000 - Warning lights - help what does it mean. - VW-Beetlelove

The engine management light has just come on today, and last week the ESP and ABS warning lights came on, and im about to take my car into the garage.

Can any one tell me what are the garage likely to say it is, is it a common vw problem.

Does it sound expensive?

If this was your car would you drive it for about another 100 miles? as I cant get it fixed til weds.

Unfortunately it is not possible to guess what the fault is .However a diagnostic check should give an idea as to the problem area.Even a faulty brake light switch is enough to bring these lights on.( a cheap and common fix).The car will probably drive ok,but remember the antilock brake system is disabled.hth

Thank you for your reply i will book a diagnostic, and go now and check my lights, as i didnt realize it could be something as simple as lights its well worth a check it would be nice if it turns out to be something simple, when i saw the words Engine Management contact vw immediately... i thought the engine was about to die! many thanks
