Mazda 5 - First Service Cost? - Housekat

I've been quoted £420 from the JCT600 Mazda dealership for a first service on our Mazda 5 Sport Diesel

I've not yet checked what this includes, but does that sound excessive? I didn't expect anything as high as that!

Blooming heck! You can buy a car for that.

I guess they're just suckering in all the people addicted to maintaining a "full service history". And the guarantee of course. But I may be cynical where dealerships are concerned.

If you're planning to keep the car, 3 years passes very quickly. Do it yourself for £20 or take it to a small friendly garage who'll stamp the book and use approved fluids.

Peace of mind or win a free holiday. Your choice.

Phone round 2/3 local Mazda dealers - they are not all rip-off merchants.

A few years back I was quoted £350 for a 3rd year service and ended up paying £199 which included a brake fluid change, which was not inc. in the £350. Franchise stamp and about £15 more than the Indie.
