diesel octavia or ceed?

diesel octavia or ceed? - john96

Hi all,

for around 5k I can get a FSH octy or ceed diesel.

2006 Elegance 100-120 k skoda with the 1.9 pd engine (cambelt).

2007 LS 60-80 k kia with 1.6 (chain).

Which is the better bet for long term use? Cost of spares etc.

Should add that I have driven both, found both ok.

The Skoda it will still be worth something in 3 years when the warranty runs out on the Ceed very few people will want it,and its by far the nicer vehicle.

I doubt that very much.

Just look on autotrader and youll soon see that the ceed holds its value well.

So there must be demand for second hand Ceed's

At the end of 3 years the ceed will still have 4 years of warranty left (that is interchangeable from owner to new owner).

Using the whatcar price guide, both models are more expensive on the forecourt than what they value them. I know they are not very accurate, and this seems to prove it!!
