Vauxhall Insignia SRi - delivery - autumnboy

Can anyone tell how long the Delivery is for a Insignia 2.0CDTi SRi 130ps Hatchback from the Factory, not from stock.

I believe my dealer is fobing me off. The order was placed end of August for a end of November delivery. But I think they forgot to order, from the response I had earlier this month.

Now they say due to delays, I may not get it in November. I've asked for the Vin number as a proof of order taken from their confirmation of order sent from the factory.

Guess what, I get no response from them as they say they get a list every Friday of the cars due to themselves and they can't tell me when its going to be.

I can smell something here.

I do not see why the dealer should fob you off surely he wants the money just as much as you want the car.

Strange

Apparently the fields of Germany are awash with Insignias looking for a home to go to.

Why order one ? Surely you would get a better eal on one from dealer stock!.

Certainly cannot sell them in Germany you never see one and not surprising when you can buy a BMW or MB for the same price, unfortuneatly the steering wheel is on the wrong side for the UK.The UK versions are probably not even made in Germany seems to apply to a lot of German models especially MB.

Today, he is trying to tell me they have problems with them and thats why there's a delay.

Even so, why does he have to wait every Friday for a email to see when various models are due and to see if mine is on the list.

I would have thought, they would have had a confirmation of order from Vauxhall UK giving the Vin number and expected delivery date, just like when you order anything else other than a car IE: Television, Caravan etc

We are talkijng of E*&^ H^%$%^&. Why can't they just come clean and say they the real reason.

Vauxhall Insignia SRi - delivery - Avant

Seriously, I suggest you cancel the order and go for a Mondeo or an Octavia. You'll enjoy driving either of these much more than any Vauxhall.

Good suggestion that Avant the Insignia is a little agricultural compared to the opposition.

I, too, have ordered an Insignia. The order was placed on Sept 17, and I was quoted Dec15 as the delivery date.

Last week I was told that because of some problem in Europe (the cars are made in Germany), perhaps to do with country allocations, that the new date is Feb 18. This means extra VAT, which I have told the dealer I would not be happy about, as the delay is not my fault, and paying extra for an extra two months' delivery does not sit well with me! We shall see what happens.

As a PS, the dealer told me of one order (not an Insignia) which was originally quoted for a January delivery, which was delivered this week. So who knows what will happen.

OK

Today my wife chased my Dealer again for a delivery date for mine.

The reason given to her was a load of Bull for the reason of delay. He said: Vauxhall had recently been taken over by an American company and the factory shuts down for a month in Sept.

Vauxhall as far as I know it, has been under GM for years and they shut down in August for 3 weeks.

Delivery for mine to the dealer 14th Feb. and i have a contract signed by them and myself for the amount to be paid from August for a November delivery, and they have agreed to hold that as its their error in quoting the incorrect date.

I missed out on one being too slow to say yes or no to have it, for one delivered for the showroom as the same spec as mine apart from the colour. If another offer comes by phone, my Wife will say yes no matter whether its Pink, Yellow or whatever colour it is.

I am going to question the rep for GM UK, whom I see now and again if I'm in the right place and right time about this issue, its gone beyond a Joke where they want the Custom to survive.
