Vauxhall Vectra C - Alternator reconditioned for Vectra C 2005 - vectacnut
Could anyone please help. I'm after anyone that help with finding a company that reconditions Alternators as mine decided to pack up yesterday. I cannot afford the price of a new one.
Any help will be much appreciated. I'm from the hertfordshire area so nearest to me would be better.

Find your local Partco - they do reconditioned units a lot cheaper than OE. Most motor factors will offer recon units at a fraction of the cost.

Try your local car spares shop or even Halfords.

Try Sahib's Auto Electrics on the Hanger Lane Gyratory system (assuming they're still there - it's been a while).

They're happy to just replace the bits that need replacing and assuming the bearings and windings in your unit are all OK so it's fixable, it shouldn't cost too much.

If it's gone suddenly dead as a doornail, chances are it's the electronic regulator pack. If you're feeling keen they'll sell you one for a few quid and you can save your pennies. If you go this route, swap the brushes while you're at it.

Thanks for the help eventually found someone, felt like an eternity though. All i need to know now is where the alternator is situated on 2005 Vectra C 1.9CDTI.
