Hi

2002 2.0 Scenic Auto

Bought the car as a non runner, usual cambelt failure. All repaired but cant get the speedo to work, rev counter ok and rest of display, but speedo dead. Removed what I thought was speedo sensor but apparently not as replacement I ordered through renault is totally different, seems it is something else, it links into a connector block.

Anyway I cannot find the speedo sensor anywhere on the gearbox and can find no clear picture on the web either so hopefully someone can help!!

According to Haynes manual it should be a DP0 Gearbox?

The speedo needle may not be working but does the mileometer/trip meter increase as you drive?There is no speed sensor on the gearbox on these.The speed signal info is supplied from the abs system.hth

Hi elekie&a/c doctor

Sorry not been back sooner but had to go away working. Finally checked out the speedo and the mileometer is not working either. The odd thing is that the ABS light and srvice lights have come on as well now. Didn't take it out as no tax and ins so jacked it up and ran it there but still no speedo or mileometer.

Any ideas?

You have a problem with the abs system.Check the multi plug connector to the abs modulator in the o/sf wing.check for any water ingress and also fuses.otherwise a diagnostic check.

Hi

Checked the module and all seems ok there, dry and all connections ok. Unfortunately my diagnostics wont read as must be ODB 1, so will have to take to the garage!!
