Mercedes C240 - Silver birch sap/removal - Elwood

Unfortunately I have to park under a silver birch tree and what with consequent bird lime, sap and leaves, the bootlid has nasty black stains all over it. I read in your column about some sort of clay preparation that can shift this lot but I have forgotten the name; I think it starts with 'M'. Many thanks.

Probably Meguiars Clay http://tinyurl.com/33yv5kz but I prefer Bilt Hamber Clay which only requires water to lubricate while you use it. http://tinyurl.com/2ujdbkz

Obviously the clay will strip any protection off the paint as well as the staining so it will need a good polish and wax afterwards.
