Just seen the incident on BBC NW. The plods have totalled the EVO, and made a right mess of a couple of gardens.

Senior plods are grovelling to the citizens of Hale and promising to pay for all the damage - just like they'd do in Moss Side or Hattersley!

There was a picture in the Telegraph....the car was upside down in someone's garden. You could clearly see there were different tyres on the back, it must have been that ;-)

Codswallop! The limit is so high in these cars that to reach it in the dry on normal roads is to put all concepts of safety aside. If the handling was spoilt by a mix of tyres or a fault, you'd feel it - assuming you drove at less than 10/10ths on the road, which you always should. Get one of these out of shape and you need superhuman reactions.

I don't doubt the majority of class 1 police drivers are very good and have the needed mechanical sympathy but the driver here needs a bicycle.

Probably a side-effect of all these "Interceptor/Police Chase" programmes which are on every channel these days.

Turns the drivers into minor celebrities, and maybe they start to believe their own publicity. Perhaps their egos are beginning to take over their common sense. They'll all be in "Hello" or "OK" before long (in fact, for all I know, maybe they already have been).

Codswallop!

I was joking. Don't know what happened to my post, but the ;-) at the end was the hint.
