I syour car the older model with large sunroof, these are normally Ok later models ie after 2005 can be fiddley so ....

The obvious causes: Obstruction / compontent failure / missing part.

I would try opening fully and get up to inspect closely inside the car if able.

Then have your helper open fully then close in 3 stages with you inspecting for point of failure.

If all this = 0 then try a search on this site
