CMax - Buying parts off ebay - Chris M

Looking for front discs and pads for my CMax. Local motor factors can do APEC for £96. APEC are OK and have used them before. However, there are Mintex disc & pad kits available on ebay for around £65 inc p&p.

Now I know all that glistens is not gold and ebay has more than a few crooks lurking as respectable traders, but some of these sellers have very good feedback (and yes I do know you can forge feedback). Has anyone bought Mintex off ebay and can recommend a seller?

I'd stick to your local factor, although fakes have been known to find their way in, he's not likely to disappear. As are you (through a hedge) if you fit some dodgy stuff.

Is it worth it?

Of course it is as long as factors charge silly prices and people pay then they will not reduce the price. You have a gaurantee with ebay not that you will need it theres a brake specialist in Dewsbury/Wakefield who advertises on ebay and their service is superb and so are Mintex products.

I have bought brake parts on ebay , and suspension parts. Quality was excellent. No problems even when they were the wrong size due to a mixup..

I buy from people whose feedback I read.. and who have lots of customers.. and save 50% on dealer prices..

And I have used the people Andy refers to above : excellent.

Of course, if you buy unbranded and from an unknown supplier, you are an idiot..and deserve the tat you will get...

I find my local factor's prices are around the same as ebay. Works out less when you include delivery.
