How should I proceed..? Last time a young from halford couldn't find the valve for pressure check

I ordered an air cleaner can...should need gas as well ...any filter to change?

Thank you

Why not take it to Kwick fit who were or are doing an offer of £50 all in or a similar place.

If you don't know what you are doing - get someone esle to do it. You can seriously injure yourself with aircon...

Only my point of view, but I wouldn't bother fixing it in this country, it's too cold.

That's not really going forward...

Air conditioning works by compressing a refridgerant gas (R134a) which increases it's pressure and therefore temperature. This high pressure gas passes through a condenser where the gas condenses into a high pressure liquid. The liquid then goes into an evaporator where it evaporates back into a gas and it's pressure is substantially reduced, and consequently so is it's temperature. The low pressure gas is then drawn through a receiver dryer back to the compressor where the process starts again.

It's a closed loop system and the amount of gas has to be correct for the system to function properly. Too much gas will mean the system will be just as ineffective as too little. Since you have no way of knowing how much gas is in the system to start with you should take the previous poster's advice and take it to a professional with the right equipment.....

Kwik fit do a very cheap gas refill, however if you have leaks or a sensor is not working then they will NOT fix this.

It does seem daft that they can gas the system but they are not allowed to fix it if faulty, or add dye to the system to detect leaks, apparently they are not trained, but maybe in the future.

I know this as we do the work for Kwik fit after they try and gas it, and it leaks or does not work afterwards.
