Who is the Pink Floyd Fan? - silverback

After reading the Q&A in Saturday 10 July Telegraph all the letter headings had a Pink Floyd related theme - Does HJ write the headings or is this the editorial teams job?

Presumablt this is in memory of Syd Barrett (6 January 1946 – 7 July 2006),

Are there often common themes like this or is it just the first time I'd noticed?

I think HJ has said in the past that the headings are the work of a sub-editor. I always enjoy them: I'm not sure whether it's the same person each week, but I like their sense of humour.

We could of course spread a wicked rumour that it's Oilrag.....

That's the sort of thing bored sub-editors do to amuse their colleagues. They get bored because they aren't actually the creative people - they only ever have to mess about with other people's words.
