If you choose the 9-5, make sure it has good history and that fully synth oil has been used at every change. These engines tend to gunge up otherwise.

If you choose either Volvo be aware that T5s eat the 5 speed auto box for breakfast, so either go for the manual (rare) or be very picky. Check oil condition and gearbox driveability carefully.

If you like the S60, also consider maybe an S80 2.5T. Cheaper to buy and lots more space.

Before you buy either it would a good idea to look on both web forums.I have a 2007 1.9tdi Saab but it has nothing in common with the 2.3 aero.A friend has 2001 Volvos80 auto petrol and it has given absolutely no problems throughout its life Any car at that age is a bit of a gamble but I would have thought the odds are with the Volvo and I would go for a manual easy job to put a new clutch in but very expensive to replace an auto box.
