I was wondering if anyone could maybe give me some advice. I have a ford fiesta 99 1.4i which the engine has been replaced recently. All went well after the installation, engine ran smooth for about a day or two until I found it did not want to idle, I replaced the idle valve, and that sorted out the idling problem, but then I noticed that the car was using excessive fuel, lack of power,( when I drive in 5 th gear and the revs go past 3000 I hear a noise like thumping) struggling to start when cold, the oil light has gone on twice in the last 3months, then I restart it goes off. On top of it all it is making a funny noise which sounded like there was a hole in the exhaust system. I checked the exhaust system and found no fault, and I replaced the spark plugs, which was burned black and especially the 3d cylinder plug was bad. This didn’t make a difference either, I had the cylinder pressure checked, nothing wrong, and even took it to have the wiring tested, but no fault to be found, I have spent a lot on the car and can’t pinpoint the fault. Can anyone pls help?
