Volkswagen Passat (2005 - ) - 05 1.9 tdi - Starting issues - nnnoo

I have a VW Passat 2005- 1.9 tdi. Ever since I took it for a service, when I start it it starts fine, and then cuts out after a few seconds and comes up with message ENIGINE FAILURE _ GARAGE and the glow plug light is on. Then when I start it again it is fine. Sometimes it takes a few attempts - what is this - it is really annoying as it always takes a few more time when I am in a rush.

Please help.
