Upholstery cleaners fact or fiction? - pullgees

I've bought two brands Wynns and Turtle of the foam type and I'm afraid I'm not impressed. The Wynns says leave for 30 secs then wipe of. The Turtle says leave for 5mins then wipe off. When you wipe off there is hardly any dirt on the cloth. They don't even remove a chocolate mark without a lot of rubbing and I'm sure warm water would do better. These items are not cheap about £6 - £7. I think they are rubbish. Any recommendations as to one that actually does what it says on the tin.

I didn't see it in Halfords but I'll look out for it, thanks.

I've used the "autoglym" version, worked well on a 2nd hand mk2 golf (previous owner a smoker had turned the roof lining yellow,,,,and seats a strange colour)

did a good job, with hot water as well as the cleaner...has to be done on a warm day to allow time to dry properly afterwards....

would i ever buy another car from a smoker.....no way.....even the dash got sticky in the sun......yuk.....

had to clean the carpets as well,,,,otherwise the car stank like a pub.....

All the foam upholstery cleaners need rubbing in with a scrubbing brush before leaving a minute or two.

I did brush in. The Turtle one comes with it's brush and made neglible difference. I suppose I'm gullible enough to believe there is an aerosol for every problem just like pills.

I have used numerous upholstery cleaners in the past and i find that the best one by far is the foam cleaner that comes in a beige coloured spray tin/bottle that i got from Poundland!

Just spray it on - leave to set - rub it in with a cloth and then lift off the residue.

I'll buy it if it's still on sale.
