Nissan Micra C+C - Brake Imbalance in Rear Brakes - westberry

Car is an Nissan Micra 1.0 year is 1998.

Car failed NCT( MOT ) on rear brake imbalance on the rear axle and the handbrake. The handbrake cable and wheel cylinder have being replaced. wheel cylinder had being leaking.

Could this be due to worn brake shoes or would it also include springs.

Grateful of advice.

If the brake shoes have not been replaced they possibly have fluid on them from the faulty brake cylinder, that will cause imbalance but should eventually dry out.
