SAAB 9-5 3.0 V6 TID ARC - DIESEL INJECTION PUMP REPLACEMENT - Andy_Luvs_Saabs

My SAAB 9-5 has developed an intermittent fuel delivery problem and needs to be replaced. My local saab specialist has said that the diesel injection pump needs to be replaced. The SAAB list price for the part is £1557.00 +VAT then there is the cost of labour at circa £400.00. The SAAB part number is 97228919 (Denso Unit) can you tell me if I can get an alternative from Bosch which will fit my vehicle. I checked on a german website and it listed a Bosch part number for the 3.0 TID as 0445 010 047.

If anyone can help me reduce the cost of this repair I would be eternally grateful.

Go to an independent diesel specialist, they usually know what they are doing and are often cheaper.

There are known issues with the fuel system on these.This car uses the same Isuzu diesel engine as fitted in the Vectra c models.I would suggest that you try a pump valve pressure repair kit first.If it is not available from Saab,then try a Vauxhall dealer.Part # 98086740.Cost around £150.hth

Does anyone know if the Desno part # 97228919 = Bosch 0445010047?

If these two pumps are the same then the Bosch one is 60% cheaper than the Denso part.

97228919 seems to be the saab part number

Denso part Number 097300-0023

Found a part number on a german website 8972289194 although not sure who manufactures this one, although it is the same as the saab part number with an 8 and 4 at either end of the saab part #.

Can anyone confirm what the bosch equivalent part is?

I have they have done diagnosis but can only access part from saab dealer at full price.
