Perodua still selling in the UK? - daveyK_UK

Are they suffeering from the weak pound (same as Daihatsu)?

Wife wants another Sirion and demands its brand new (I know) but the Daihatsu dealers either havent got any (and wont be getting any until Autumn 2010 - cant guarantee) or the one new one I have found they want list price for it.

The Myyvi is the same car and a lot less in terms of list price but local(ish) Perodua dealer has now gone since the recession started.

If you Google Perodua you can still find a website with names and locations of dealers.

At the risk of incurring Mrs Davey's wrath, dare one suggest a Suzuki Splash or Swift as an alternative? Perodua's sales must be so low (hence your question) that they could well pull out of the UK at any time, and then you could have trouble getting parts and service.

The same could be said for Daihatsu: I think I read somewhere that they weren't importing Sirions because the weak pound made it uneconomical.

Lime Garages in Warwickshire (01926 493 821) had a new red Sirion automatic (I think) a two months back but they were not advertising it and had more or less given up on the franchise because none were being imported. Probably gone now since they were fielding calls for the Terios when I was there but might be worth a try since they were concentrating on Kia. There were never really any discounts to speak of on Daihatsus so list would not be a surprise.

How about the Subaru version - the Justy?

I think Subaru have given up on the Justy. Was around 10 grand last I saw. No competition vs. Euro built city cars.
