If this abomination from Geely becomes a reality it will probably hand the London taxi market to any rival manufacturer on a plate! www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/geely-reveals-new-london-taxi/248783/pictures/geely-reveals-new-london-taxi.aspx

The interior looks good though. Geely are taking over manufacture of the current London taxi design from Manganese Bronze, so it seems this chubby thing is possibly the planned replacement for the TX1.

It looks like a cross between a MINI and PT Cruiser... hideous...

And just how can a disabled person get into it?

Worse piece of design for a taxi I've ever seen...

I thought it also had a bit of the look of the early 1950's Austin Somerset and Hereford designs, which were not really very beautiful.

There was a London taxi called the Winchester, with a glass-fibre body, produced in the 60's, which was possibly as ugly as the Geely. After a few years Winchester replaced this with a much nicer looking taxi.

As the MINI and those PT C's are based on 50s looks then I suppose that figures!

I stand by what I said before, though, as a taxi cab design its useless!
