Since some weeks ago, my Berlingo has developed this problem. The gear lever has excessive horizontal travel and although gears go in without a problem, it is sometimes difficult to find the exact gear position. An example going up a hill and I need to drop a gear say from 3rd to the 2nd gear, Accidentally the 4th will go in causing the car to lose all power.

Anyone came across this problem?? I have already replaced the gear lever assembly but the fault remained the same.
