A voluminous discharge of salt - oilrag

Perhaps it was just dumped thickly on the roads last night because it was there? Funny though there was none in South Leeds. But pop over the border of a connecting local authority and it was as though the Golden Horde had come through - in the form of gritters.

The gritters that had been severely constipated all Winter, leaving cars to slither on sheets of ice and hard packed snow - now, with the mere hint of a 3c night..

Voluminous discharge - the Golden Horde - dumping their load - in places so thickly that you could`nt see the road surface.

Even on the estate I visited, where a gritter was never seen in the severe weather. If every resident went out and swept up their own pile from the `overkill` an inch deep on bends, they could apply it themselves when the Council has run out, next Winter.

Yeah, I`d just washed the subrames and had to do it again.

I know just how frustrated you feel Oily, i love this time of year, lots of warmer rain buds sprouting hundreds of songbirds canoodling and nest building fighting for mates and ground space and singing their little hearts out...not a magpie to be seen within a mile of our gaff..;)...nature refreshing rejuvinating replacing it's previous generations as it knows best despite the foul motorists best efforts to boil the planet bare.

And the blasted gritters dumping shedloads of salt for goodness knows what reason?

I'm sorry you were caught out by them, i don't spring clean underneath and make good the winter damage till the end of April, so many times i've been caught exactly how you were. swmbo will relish taking Sherman through the ford at warp factor 4 to aid the desalination.

I did sand Sherman's exhaust down and paint it this last week, but that was a job that could safely be done anyway.

there'll be some who wonder what on earth we're talking about.;)

Down near Bath +2c is the coldest it got this week on one night but the gritters were out plastering everything in salt you thought you'd seen the last of until next winter.
