Guys, I share your pain! I'm a freelance Web test analyst and I spent six months at AutoTrader testing the old site as the new one was developed. I bought the first edition of the magazine and my brother used to work for them selling advertising, so I have a certain fondness and brand loyalty.
AutoTrader made a simple error (in my opinion), they brought in outside programmers and designers instead of using the talented and knowledgeable guys they had in house.
I think that this was strategy foisted on them however by the Guardian group who own the title, not the fault of the people who work at Newton Le Willows. I hope the owners learn from this and see fit to allow their own guys to design and build AutoTrader 3.0 and soon!
This morning they are running a full background Googe Chrome advert and the site is unusable. After two minutes I left. Incidentally the search provided by AutoTrader for Top Gear is better (though buggy - try finding an Alfa GT, all you get is page after page of GTVs).
