Citroen berlingo Multispace/ Peugeot Partner - sloppy gear change - dixie4

I have a high mileage berlingo 1.9 Diesel which I have just bought. The car runs and drives fantasticaly except for a couple of things.

1, The gear change is very sloppy and it is easy to select the wrong gear. Is there a repair kit of bushes available? Or is this how they are?

2, The accelerator pedal is very heavy, again is this how they are?

UPDATE.
Found part of my problem.

There are three control rods on the gearchange mechanism one long, two short, one of the short ones had excess play in the bushes. With this replaced the sloppiness is improved.
