Travel from Stran to Newark & back. Food pitstop? - dieseldogg
Any suggestions as to where to stop for a break/meal...off the M-way
be going down pm Fri ret pm Sun, about 1800to23.59 each way

Do you mean Stranraer?
If so theres a good Indian in Dumfries(India Palms) OK Chinese in Annan.
At Staitondale near Penrith there is a good farm shop with cafe but will not be open in the times you quoted.
Pub in Springholm is ok too but a long time since I was there.
There's one of those Toby carvery places on the Kingstown Road on the way in to Carlisle.
