There's been some garage talk recently, and as HJ himself hasn't mentioned it on the forum (yet), here's the news item for those that have missed it:

Will be watching this with interest.
On the basis that most people are quicker to complain that they are to praise, there doesn't seem to be a way of registering "negatives".
So a garage may win due to x amount of good votes etc, but there may be y amount of people that wouldn't touch that garage with a bargepole and the scheme could lose credibility as a result.
Something along the lines of "online feedback"similar to Amazon or Ebay but how you would implement that I don't know!
There is a National dealer chain who I have used for the last few years and I have always been happy with their service and would recommend them. But I also know of hundreds, if not more, disgruntled customers who have internet campaigns, have gone to press etc about their service!
Its a tough call but the principle behind it is excellent.

This is quite interesting. I wonder how some people end up getting what they consider to be poor service from somewhere that others use without issue? Are their standards different? Is their attitude different?
Online feedback is easy. The problem comes with right to reply as it would seem unfair to give negative feedback without a way of the garage responding.
If a garage doesn't have any complaints to trading standards then it's probably a good sign it must be ok.....or it hasn't been trading long enough to get any!
