Can anyone recommend a Jag specialist in the Midlands area? Im having problems with my central locking not working. Apparently this is a common problem on jags with either the locks sticking or the PC board gone.

Thanks

very common fault...it'll be one of the door locks sticking, which then affects the central locking...cost me roughly £200 from a London based Jag independent.

is this a specialist job or DIY?

thanks

Pass...sorry.

I know I tried going mad with WD40 and my garage laughed and said people always try that to no avail. It was basically a new lock mechanism fitted.

When the problem first started, it took me a while to notice that one of the doors wasn't locking or unlocking occasionally. When you pull away and the doors should all lock, sometimes they would lock and immediately unlock again (because one door was stuck in the unlocked position) and you'd get to your journeys end and try locking it with the remote and it wouldn't do it, because one door was still unlocked.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks Westpig. il have a look tomorrow in the daylight. i tried to lock it today and nothing - so i used the other fob thinking the battery was low. at one point the hazard lights flashed as if it was locked and the alarm was on but the doors were still open.

ive also got a problem with the drivers side window - its slipped down a few mm so its really noisy on the motorway and lets in water if its raining hard.

I phoned the local jag garage today as ive spotted rust on the tailgate as well, they said it was within the paint warranty and to bring it in so they can take some photo's.

Other than that its a good car!

Westpig, I managed to solve the problem by opening and closing the central locking via the drivers door internal button about 20 times. I think it freed the locking. How long this 'fix' will last Im not sure.
