Without one of the keys the car is immobilised, minus the red key no other keys can be bought and programmed.

My FIAT has the original red key system, but bought umpteenth hand never came with a red key - just a single blue one. I just got a spare key copied and programmed at the little key cutting kiosk next to the local supermarket. 30 euros I think.
