Why six years? <<
"A Manchester driver's been jailed after soaking a pedestrian, and then threatening his victim with a sawn-off shotgun when he complained."
Obviously 5.5yrs for splashing the chap, with an extra 6 months for threatening them with a sawn-off shotgun ;-)

My point dear boy is that they should throw away the keys, or better still, engage the services of a vet, if you get my point.

Considering you get 9-10 for robbing a bank with a gun, 6 seems about right since no money was involved.
Obviously money is more important than human life.

He wont serve it. A sandwich short of a picnic. Needs removing. Older (pre nanny state) folk know what it means. Night night, thanks for coming, pity you couldn't behave Mr. no brains. AND there's thousands more like him. Wasters one and all.

Lygonos,
The only thing wrong with that statement is the smiley at the end.
The law has always valued money and property above human life.

I guess it's a winky (oo-er matron!) rather than a smiley.
I agree, and this was the intended sentiment.
"In the case of a single offence of armed robbery where the target was a bank, or a security or Post Office van and there was no serious injury, the appropriate starting point is 15 years."
..... compared with
"Where an elderly victim, living alone, was violently attacked by intruders and was injured, the likely sentence would be a custodial sentence of 10 years or more."
