Morning all,
The 'exhaust gas monitor' and 'service' lights came on as I was tootling along yesterday. Looking in my handbook tells me that I need to take the car to a Renault dealer asap. It's booked in tomorrow at my local independent Renault specialist but I thought I'd try to find out what may the matter before I take it in - forewarned is fore-armed and all that.
So, does anybody have any thoughts on what may be the problem? And, more importantly, how expensive it may be?
Just as an aside, I'd put an tenner's worth of supermarket fuel in about ten miles before the light came on - not sure if that's related but you do hear stories....
Thanks in advance.

In my 02 1.6 clio when these lights came on it was due to failing ignition coils. These lights coming on whilst the car was driving also resulted in reduced acceleration/performance. If I remember correctly cost a couple of hundred quid to put right.

Thanks, shara. When the lights came on, there was absolutely no difference in the performance of the car - it drove perfectly normally. To be honest, I could do with it being a simple 'wiring glitch' as money is tighter than a duck's bottom underwater right now...
Cheers.
